Australia King George River 2013 Sediment core

Prof. Dongyan Liu from CAS Yantai institute of Coastal Zone Research joined the King George River Research Voyage in Australia led by CSIRO during 1-15 June, 2013.

The Kimberley region of Western Australia is an extensive wilderness area that is poorly studied. CSIRO is leading a team of scientists to a remote part of Australia’s north-west coast to record the plant and animal diversity and map the various habitat types along the coastline around the mouth of the King George River. This is the first time that this area has been surveyed and the scientists expect to discover animals and plants that are new to science.
