NOAA Dr. SHI Wei visited YIC

December 9, 2008, NOAA meteorological satellite center Dr. SHI Wei visited YIC invited by Director SHI Ping. Dr. Shi Wei works in Center for Research and Application (STAR) of NOAA National Environmental Satellite Data and Information Service (NESDIS), mainly research include: ocean color remote sensing algorithms and applications, inversion of ocean color calibration and validation, satellite studies, as well as a high degree of multi-satellite Sensor regional and global study of ocean processes. He and his Working Group proposed ground-breaking algorithm on Remote Sensing of the Coastal Zone Color Atmospheric Correction of, currently he is mainly engaged in coastal zone satellite remote sensing, coastal zone and marine ecosystem dynamics mechanism.

 Dr. SHI Wei made a presentation entitled "Satellite Remote Sensing of Water Properties for Turbid Ocean Coastal and Inland Waters". After that he had thorough exchange with researchers from YIC and discussed future co-operation.
