To meet the need of sustainable development of research on coastal resources and environment, the Center for Analysis and Test of Yantai Institute of Coastal Zone Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (YIC-CAS) was founded in 2009. It is a public center that offers technological support and service for regional economic construction and researches on resources and chemical industry in the coastal zone; ecological environment and processes in the coastal zone; information integration in the coastal zone, etc..

Aiming at supporting scientific researches and providing service to the society, the center currently has five functional and technological platforms which can be used for inorganic analysis, organic analysis, biological analysis, structural analysis and conventional analysis. In addition, the center has over 80 sets of large and medium-sized equipment with total value of more than 4000 yuan.

At present, the center not only offers various services to YIC but other enterprises. The service includes the analysis of environmental samples, biological samples and chemical samples; the identification of organic compound structure; qualitative and quantitative analysis of components, all kinds of content determination of elements or inorganic ion, etc..
