China's first archeological ship starts maiden voyage

 

China's first archeological ship, China Kaogu 01, starts its maiden voyage in Qingdao, in East China's Shandong province, on Sept 4. The ship, independently developed and built by the country at a cost of 60 million yuan ($9.78 million), is 57.91 meters long and 10.8 meters wide and has a loaded displacement of 980 tons. It is designed to be manned by 30 people.
