On 23th August, 2017, Prof. Johan Bobacka from Akademi University, Finland and Assoc. Prof. Xiaojiang Xie from Southern University of Science and Technology gave splendid lectures titled “New Signal Transduction Principle for Solid-Contact Ion-Selective electrodes” and “Ionophore-Based Ion-Selective Optical Nanosensors”, respectively. In these two lectures, the progresses in the field of “ionophore-based ion-selective electrochemical and optical sensors” were demonstrated. Moreover, their applications in the field of environmental monitoring were also discussed.  

Prof. Johan Bobacka is Professor in Analytical Chemistry at Akademi University in Finland. His fields of interest include electroanalytical chemistry, process analytical chemistry, chemical sensors, conducting polymers and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, with special emphasis on the development of solid-contact ion-selective electrodes. He has published over 140 peer-reviewed articles, reviews and book chapters.

Xiaojiang Xie, is associate Professor in Analytical Chemistry at the Southern University of Science and Technology. He has published ca 40 peer-reviewed articles and reviews including Nature Chemistry and JACS. He was selected by Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry as Young investigator in Analytical and bioanalytical Sciences in 2016.
