| Prof. Sina ADL from University of Saskatchewan visits YIC |
September 6 2016, Prof. Sina Adl of University of Saskatchewan visited YIC and presented his research work. Prof. Sina ADL is the department head and full Professor of University of Saskatchewan, studying soil microbial ecology, rhizosphere ecology and soil nutrition. He is now hosting grants from Agriculture and AgriFood Canada, Canada First Research Excellence Fund, NSERC Discovery Grant Canadian International Food Security Research Fund (CIFSRF) et al. He is now the chief editor of Journal <Rhizosphere> and associate editor of several microbiology journals. Till now, he has published 10 treatises and about 60 scientific papers. During his visit, Prof. ADL gave an excellent talk entitled “Soil food web: in frontiers of the soil ecology”. In his presentation, Prof. ADL introduced the importance of soil food web, the possible environmental factors shaping the microbial community in soil, as well as the advanced equipment used in the soil ecology studies, for example, synchrotron tomography.
