Prof. Andrzej Witkowski together with 3 research fellows from University of Szczecin, Poland visited YIC from Sep. 4-7.

Prof. Andrzej Witkowski was honored as a Humboldt Fellow, his research interests include coastal environmental ecology, diatom resource, regional climage change and paleoceanography. He gave a talk on the topic of “Solving old dilemma do benthic marine diatoms possess biogeography, morphological and molecular approach" about the achievements of his group in the last few years, the Phd Student Chunlian Li made a presentation of "A new araphid diatom genus of plagiogrammaceae from Bohai Sea characterized by morphology and ultrastructure",introduced the result of diatom analysis which were collected around Yantai coast.

After the academic exchange meeting, the Polish researchers visited CAS Muping Integrated Experimental Station for the Coastal Environment.
