| Dr. Anxin Hou from Louisiana State University visits YIC |
Dr. Anxin Hou, Associated Professor from Department of Environmental Sciences, Louisiana State University, visited Yantai Institute of Coastal Zone Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences and presented her research work on July 7th, 2014. Dr. Anxin Hou delivered an excellent lecture entitled “Application of a multidisciplinary approach to microbial and biogeochemical research in coastal zones: two case studies”. Her lecture mainly focused on distribution and modeling of pathogens in coastal area, and impacts of Deepwater Horizon oil spill on the marsh ecosystem. Dr. Aixin Hou works mainly on microbial ecology, biogeochemistry, and water quality. She has been awarded NOVO Excellent Graduate Award, DIAO Distinguished Research Award, Eco-Frontier Fellowship, Phi Kappa Phi Non-tenured Faculty Award, Tiger Athletic Foundation Teaching Award, and Pearson Sustainable Solutions Award for her excellent work on microbiology.
