March 5, 2009, researchers from CNRS-INEE (French National Center for Scientific Research, Institute of Ecology and Environment) accompanied by related CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences) personnel visited YIC. They exchanged views with YIC research specialists on related issues.

CNRS-INEE (French National Center for Scientific Research, Institute of Ecology and Environment), founded in 1978, The institute’s mission is to develop and coordinate research carried out in the fields of global ecology : ecology and environment, including biodiversity and interactions between humans and environment. Their Scientific fields: ecology and ecosciences, biodiversity, impact of global change, health - environment, resources, ecological and environmental chemistry. Their Strategic orientations are Understand the interactions between the components of the environmental crisis at different spatiotemporal scales. Facilitate the innovation in the environmental sciences The goal is to produce reliable knowledge on global mechanisms in order to have the most effective tools at disposal for analysis, control, forecast and remediation; they are needed because of the global character of the concerned phenomena and the globalised interactions. Move the research closer to the action

The aim is to broaden the innovation fields to identify the new ways of the economic, ecological and social development, both at the local and national, European and international levels. Support and develop tools necessary for its scientific missions .Besides Ecotrons, the research in environment, in particular that concerning the relations between humans and ecosystems, requires the consideration of complex phenomena, interacting in various scales of time and space. This fact requires the implementation of specific tools allowing specific studies associated with slow or fast dynamics. INEE develops Zones Ateliers and Observatories Human-Environment.

French experts Stéphanie THIEBAULT introduced CNRS-INEE Institute, Sylvain LAMARE made a presentation entitled The Research Organization on Environment and Sustainable Development in La Rochelle. Experts from both sides discussed the further cooperation in a friendly atmosphere.
