Yantai Institute of Coastal Zone Research held the Belt and Road Training Course of Coastal Ecological Aquaculture and Biotechnology |
From July 2nd to 16th, the "the Belt and Road Training Course of Coastal Ecological Aquaculture and Biotechnology" organized by the Yantai Institute of Coastal Zone Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (YIC, CAS) was successfully held in Yantai, Shandong Province. A total of 22 trainees including university professors, researchers, and technical personnel from 13 countries such as Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, Russia, and Cameroon, participated in the training. All participants held a master's degree or higher. The training form of this course included oral lectures, laboratory visits, marine ranch visits and company visits, etc. Twenty-eight experts from 17 affiliations, with the YIC as the main organizer, were invited to conduct oral lectures. The key topics covered the technological development and international cooperation of aquaculture in China, the current status and trends of marine biotechnology, and the production of blue food. Over the course of 15 days, the trainees not only gained in-depth professional knowledge, but also deepened their understanding of the scientific progress and industrial development of Chinese coastal zone. Some trainees actively introduced their national technological advancements and demands in related fields through special presentations, enriching the training content and also providing topics for future international project applications. The trainees also gained a better understanding of the international cooperation and talent exchange efforts of the CAS, expressing their strong interest in pursuing doctoral degree, postdoctoral degree and visiting scholars opportunities. This training course has built a solid platform for promoting scientific and technological cooperation and talent introduction among " Belt and Road" countries in the post-epidemic era.
